Sathya Velmurugiah

About

Born and raised in Edmonton, Sathya brings a grounded community-focused perspective to her legal practice. After graduating law school abroad in Griffith University in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in 2022, she returned home with a broadened outlook to delivering clear, practical and client-centered advice. Her legal journey began with articling at a mid-sized firm in Edmonton where she developed a foundational understanding of litigation, corporate law and real estate.

During her time in law school, Sathya participated in moots and simulated client interviews, gaining valuable advocacy and communication experience. While completing her National Canadian Accreditation (NCA) process at the University of Calgary, she worked as a family law case worker for her professor's colleague where she conducted legal research and assisted with file preparation, therefore strengthening her analytical abilities and deepened her understanding of client needs.

Sathya practices in corporate law, family law, real estate and wills & estates offering comprehensive support across some of life's significant personal and business milestones. Sathya's approach is compassionate and steady, with a strong focus on each client's goals. She is dedicated to providing solution-oriented representation rooted in professionalism and care.

Outside of the office, Sathya enjoys staying active by going to the gym, playing badminton and painting with acrylics.
