Jessica Marple

About

Jessica graduated from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law in 2024 and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2025. Prior to attending law school, she completed her undergraduate studies at Bournemouth University on the south coast of England.

While in Bournemouth, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations, writing her honours dissertation on the topic of litigation PR. After graduation, she spent two years working at communications and media firms in London, England before returning to her hometown of Edmonton.

Jessica practices primarily in the area of family law, focusing on divorce, parenting, child support, spousal support, property division, and separation agreements. She takes a resolution-oriented approach with her clients, blending empathy with candid guidance. As a former PR practitioner, she understands the importance of narrative and optics.

She also has experience in wills and estates, drafting wills, powers of attorney, and personal directives. She plans to expand her practice to intellectual property work, incorporating her experience in media, film, and television.

While at the University of Alberta, Jessica worked on Student Legal Services' Criminal Project and was a member of the executive committee for the Law Show. During her second year, she was a member of the four-person team chosen to represent the U of A at the Harold G. Fox Intellectual Property Moot in Toronto. During the summer, she volunteered as a programming coordinator for a local women-led film festival. She began her articles at Queck & Associates in September 2024.

When not in the office, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, reading biographies, and scoping out local restaurants.
